Machine setup for Phase A.7:

  1. Injection energy ( 450 GeV)

     

  2. Good beam lifetime ( at least 1 hour)

  3. Un-squeeze optics: b*1,2,5,8 = 11, 10, 11, 10 m

  4. Beam type: pilot++

    • Ib:  from  ~ 4•1010 p+/bunch to 9•1010 p+/bunch

    • en: Nominal emittances (try small emittances, ~ 2.5 microns?)

    • eL < 0.8 eV.s

    • 1x1 bunches of pilot intensity sufficient to see first collisions in point 1 and 5; better accuracy with few 1010 p+/bunch. Later 2x2 (collisions in all IPs) and then 43x43

    • No crossing angle
